BrownTitle: Vice President for Network Engagement, Achieving the Dream

Since last year, Brown has led Achieving the Dream’s (ATD) national network of more than 220 community colleges in 41 states and championed evidence-based institutional improvement to impact more than four million students. In her role at ATD, Brown manages a $1.8-million budget and leads the planning of the DREAM conference, ATD’s largest annual event. Brown formerly served as director of higher education practice at The Education Trust, vice chancellor and chief of staff at the University of North Carolina at Greenville and chief of staff at the University of North Texas. A 2014 recipient of the Top Women in Business Award from the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro, N.C., Brown has served as a member of the board of trustees of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a member of Family Restoration and Healing Center, Inc., and a program committee member of the AGB Board Professionals Leadership Group. She has a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, a juris doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law and she attended the Institute of Educational Management at Harvard University.
