Dr. Enobong “Anna” Branch Appointed Vice President of Equity at Rutgers

Rutgers University appointed Dr. Enobong “Anna” Branch as its first vice president of equity in September, NJ.com reported.

One goal the school has, with Branch leading the effort, is to increase inclusivity and connection across campus life.

“We are a diverse community of students. But diversity isn’t the goal, right?” Branch said. “It’s to have a diverse community and have those communities interact with one another in ways that aren’t harmful.

Earlier in the year, Rutgers faced systemic racism allegations and lawsuits, which the school has denied.

Dr. Jonathan Holloway, Rutger’s first Black president picked Branch for the role and had said that  equity will be a top priority for the school moving forward.
