Patricia McGuire

McGuire has been president of Trinity Washington University since 1989. In this role, McGuire has been lauded for her efforts to expand Trinity Washington’s regional and national profile and attract nontraditional students. Prior to her role as president, McGuire served in several higher education administrative and leadership roles. She was an adjunct professor of law and assistant dean for Development and External Affairs for Georgetown University’s Law Center, and was the project director for Georgetown’s D.C. Street Law Project. She also served as a legal affairs commentator for the CBS children’s news magazine 30 Minutes and the Fox television program “Panorama” in Washington. She currently is a member of the boards of directors of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Washington Metropolitan Consortium of Universities, the D.C. College Success Foundation, the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, Catholic Charities of D.C., United Educators and the Ameritas Mutual Holding Company. She has written and spoken on a wide range of topics regarding higher education, women and Catholic education. Her articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Current Issues in Catholic Higher Education and other media outlets.
